Conflicts Within

Some days seem to be so unbearable...

You can't seem to bear anything that happens.
Every single moment seems to be working against you.

So many run ins, so many injuries...
so what is one to do?

Sometimes, it is nothing. Sometimes, there is one thing.

It probably varies depending on the situations or circumstances.

I found this You Tube video about a gal who seems over-wrought by an
overwhelming or painful moment of her life. She also reminds me of an
angel or sprite that lives in a nearby pool where people visit.
I had called her "the angel of the silent pool."

The story was supposed to be an allegory of two sisters of faith.
The angel was supposed to be a healing agent for families and children.
She loved being in that little fountain.

In the video, however, she feels estranged or other - wise unable to dwell within
her abode, because some disaster has happened.

Those of you who have ever watched "Faraway So Close" probably can relate
to how angels behave when there is sadness around.

So, I dedicate this song and video to my unborn angel (story)...until she finds
a new home.

Sometimes, life can make you feel displaced, but these are moments that teach us a
great deal.

So, even angels cry. How much can we expect from life?
So take comfort, someone always cries for you.

Denominational Strife!

Today, we come together to ask for a cessation of
denominational strife among believers and the followers of
faith everywhere.

We seek peace, in spite of differences, big and small.
We want to listen and hear our brothers and sisters.
We want unity and not war among us.

As a child, I was afforded an opportunity to be among a
wide array of believers of God.

My family members are everywhere in denominations, Anglicans, Orthodox,
Catholics, Protestants, missionaries, and anything that has to do
with a love of God and His works. That's what works!
That's what faith is, bringing believers together and not apart.

At birth, I was made part of the Anglican church. Today, I am more or less
an interdenominational protestant. I have more understanding of people's
individual faith systems as time goes on. I value this understanding greatly.

As children, we were also friends with Moslem peoples who lived next door to us
and on our block. When we had our events, everyone was free to attend. Even Hindu
peoples came, because they believed in the story of Jesus.
We were invited by them to their houses also.

Today, I recommend a book: A Vanished World by Chris Lowney.

This you tube video explains why catholics ask Mary to intercede
on their behalf.

http://catholicipod.stblogs.com/2008/02/15/donna-cori-gibson-youtube-video-beautiful-song-hail-mary/

Where there is understanding, there is no strife.
Where there is sight, there is true discussion of truths.

An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.
Even Gandhiji would agree. He was considered a true bridge builder,
because he loved all people and people of all faiths. This is why
he didn't want the country to split apart.

So, today, I ask you, what are we all really fighting about?

Is it all worth it, if it's tearing us all apart?

The common consensus: we all would answer the same,
unless we believe only in anarchy!

Protestants vs Catholics
Charismatics vs Non-Charismatics
Atheists vs Believers
Angels vs men
God vs man, even

Almost Over Wednesday

For you Wednesday:

Nothing personal, but when will it feel like the
end of the week?

Have you ever felt like this?

I can't wait until the week is over or for Friday.

I heard an old song Sheena Easton used to sing. I was thinking
she must have been talking about Wednesdays.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcLSFIgmO_k
How about you?

Anyway, her beautiful voice makes you forget Wednesday.

I was the one who liked Wednesdays in any group.

The reason: I didn't have to be at Monday or at the end of the week.

So Wednesday was a safe place for me.

So, next time you're thinking about escaping a slow week, try to think about
how Wednesday actually stopped you, grabbed a hold of you, and made you think
things through. Mondays or Fridays are too busy for us to even plan.
So thank God for Wednesdays!

A place of centeredness!

Journaling & Blessing!

Journaling with tips from the author of Simple Abundance!

http://simpleabundance.com/gratitude.html

A journal is a great way to express yourself toward a state of
blessing, thankfulness, and love for all things.

When that is present within you, you begin to express
outwardly.

Love is born within and then is born outwardly.

Life makes sense again.

Devotionals!

DEVOTIONALS

http://www.crosswalk.com/devotionals

A daily devotional is a creative way to start your day, reflecting on life
and its meaning. Spiritual blessing and spiritual health, subsequently, is
the focus of many, many devotionals.

Growing up, I saw my mom reading "Streams in the Desert." I had asked her
what the book was. She always read it along with her bible. She let me look
at it, and said she would give it to me when I was older. So my mom gave me the
first volume.

Years later, I found other volumes at a catholic book store by the local
university. It was called "The Mustard Seed." So I told my mom there was a
series and bought one of the volumes in the series for her.

The author had written the first volume during a crisis, and it became inspirational to a lot of other people. I think it was great that Mrs. Chas. Cowman wrote this book. It has helped my family out during difficult times.

This link has a brief synopsis of Mrs. Cowman and pages from her book.

Devotionals take you to places where you find healing.
So I recommend one to you today.

Eyes Behind Eyes

I always liked this song - every time it would be featured on
the radio. Once in a while you hear it, but not a whole lot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6kgvwq7ZPk

I like the version of this on YT, because it reminds me about
traveling and looking about as we travel and not being able to
stop, because it is not the destination yet.

Mostly, it was because I was on someone else's schedule.

So, it's all in the journey, most of all, that you find yourself.

The destination is there after a while, but missing out on the
entire journey can make you feel gipped or ripped off, too.

So I like the song, because I know that when I look through
the window and see that others are all on a journey as well,
it helps me stay connected to a higher scheme of things.

I could stop at many stops along the way, which is okay, but
I really don't miss the real journey.

I think this also reminds me of a book called,
"Pilgrim's Progress," by a man who felt that life offered him
a lot of rugged terrain along the way, and he did eventually make it to his destination but not without a load of trouble.

The author had even landed in jail where he penned the book.

Now, as an allegory, it is a source of inspiration for writers everywhere!

I, for one, am glad he made it through!

The "Thanks" of the Moment!

Sometimes, a day may seem to be so terrible to me.
Then you remind me something within the conflicts,
within the day, within the hours and seconds that I should consider.

I then remember to bless each day,
because it is yours.

Yours again, and then
you give it back to me again.

Another day to renew
to find time in little things
to hope and pray again.

Today, I am thankful to you
for bringing us your angels to us
in big and small things.

You make each moment count.

Echo's Song!

When I lose your words
and this world
where we once used to be,
I feel as if
I am being driven
away from you
by marketers or business
or other artifices
that only want me to
see you
& not speak
all the glass walls
dividing us
and more to come

i felt like
i was drifting away
years ago
eons ago
when they reduced you
to just an echo
to be filed away
into past archives

Devotional Book: Hind's Feet On High Places by Hannah Hurnard

(and a discussion of it)

here:

http://www.angelfire.com/nm/AndI/HindsFeet.html

I found a lot of comfort and hope in this book when I was young. I believe it inspired in me a desire to press on when life offered many, many obstacles.
